SKELYA – a regional shopping and entertainment centre on Lvivska Street in Stryi, on the road out towards Lviv. Around 25,000 m² in total, 21,500 m² of it lettable, all on a single level across a 4.55-hectare former industrial site.
One level over that area is first of all a roof problem: long spans and as few intermediate columns as possible, so that the malls and the food court are not cut up by structure. All the plant sits on the roof, so it carries considerably more than itself.
The site is planned around access from the main road: open parking for 300 cars, separate entry points, cycle paths and seating in front of the entrance. Inside there is a supermarket, a cinema, a children’s entertainment centre, a food court and restaurants, a gym, a spa and office space.
