SMART HILL APART-COMPLEX – an eleven-storey apart-complex in Yaremche, ringed by Carpathian slopes. 317 apartments of 13.6 to 60 m², commercial units and reception on the ground floor, restaurant and spa on the roof.
An in-situ reinforced concrete frame, aerated block external walls with mineral board insulation on top. The roof took the most work: an open-air restaurant, spa and hot tubs mean concentrated loads and waterproofing details of their own where there would normally be nothing but a roof build-up. The self-contained shelter was calculated separately.
The grounds are closed to through traffic: some parking goes underground, the rest into a multi-level surface car park. The ground floor turns its shopfronts towards the busier side.
